P&G

The Challenge

P&G, a global leader in the consumer goods industry, grappled with a multitude of regulatory requirements across its vast operations worldwide. This presented a significant challenge in ensuring product safety, compliance, and transparency. With operations spanning numerous countries and encompassing diverse product portfolios, the task of managing these regulatory complexities became increasingly arduous. Non-compliance risked reputational damage, fines, and delays in time to market.

Solution

Recognizing the need for a comprehensive solution, P&G forged a strategic partnership with Be Informed. Together, they implemented the Global Product Stewardship solution, a robust framework designed to address the complex regulatory landscape. This solution focused on building an intelligent data infrastructure to assess raw materials against global regulations and environmental and human safety standards. The aim was to establish a streamlined process for regulatory compliance and product safety across the entire lifecycle.

Application

Be Informed provided P&G with a suite of tools to manage Global Product Stewardship processes effectively. This included:

  • Raw Material Readiness Assessment: A process to assess raw materials on a molecule level, ensuring compliance with regulatory, environmental, and human safety standards.
  • Pre-market Testing: Ensuring new products meet regulatory and safety requirements before market introduction.
  • Market Roll-out Clearance: Internal process to verify compliance with regulatory, environmental, and human safety standards before product launch.
  • Product Registration: Managing product registration and notification requirements across all countries of operation.
  • Managing In-Market Changes: Monitoring changes in regulations, scientific developments, and market practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

Future

Implementing the Global Product Stewardship solution has positioned P&G for future success. P&G has improved productivity, accuracy, and compliance by centralizing data infrastructure and streamlining processes. The solution has replaced legacy systems, integrated knowledge into workflows, and personalized common workflows. Looking ahead, P&G anticipates continued benefits in enhanced productivity, compliance, and cost savings.
